syiah

bismillah.

sejak kecik, baba selalu cerita tentang kepelikan-kepelikan manusia kat muka bumi ni. antaranya, golongan syiah. since i never actually met a syiah before, therefore sudah tentulah kisah yang didengar hanya bagai sebuah storytale.

di musolla carleton, thanks to kisah2 baba, i can immediately identify pengikut-pengikut syiah. being curious, i looked at the stones they use for praying. batu kecil sahaja, buat daripada clay mungkin, berbentuk segi empat atau bulat kecil biasanya. tapi yang menarik perhatian, adalah ukiran di atasnya. it shocked me that on one of the stones, it was written in arabic, for you hassan and hussein, we perform our solah.

a sunni friend saw me holding the stone, and i was warned to not go near it again. being stubborn, i did look at it again, to check whether all the stones say the same thing. tapi kebanyakan batu sudah pecah atau retak, menyukarkan proses pembacaan.

but then one day, i heard one syiah girl explaining to her friend on what they believe. the girl corrected few of her friend's statement. then the friend asked about the sentence on the stone, the syiah girl was suprised to see it too, she said; "no, ofcourse we pray only to Allah".

teringat pendidikan islam tingkatan dua, golongan syiah adalah antara golongan sesat, yang dikategorikan sebagai murtad.wallahua'lam. but i do notice all syiah pepole i know of never answer our salaam.they even separated themselves from msa(muslim studemt association), and have their own group of muslims student federation. muslim lain yg tidak iktiraf mereka atau mereka yg tidak iktiraf muslim lain?wallahua'lam. tapi bila berjemaah semuanya bersama-sama didalam satu soff.

i can't help but think of the nice syiah girls(both my labpartners for bio and chem are iraqis, thus a syiah), they were born into syiah, and how grateful i am to be born into a proper muslim family.wallahua'lam.

  1. yeah. i understand ur curiosity. sbb kte pun pernah keliru pasal syiah ni...ada skali tu kite gi tnya directly kat seorg prmpuan yg solat beralaskan "arabic written stone" tu. hee~(seingat kita dia jawab: we r syiah n not MUSLIM..then bila kita fikir2 balik2, rasanya dia cakap SUNNI, instead of MUSLIM..) time tu lagi confius kte.
Tapikan, ingat tak explanation sedara Rifat tu, some of them tahu cara diaorg salah, juz that da mmg dieorg were born as syiah.ntahla.
yup.bersyukur sgt kita semua are in the right track as proper muslim..alhmdulillah.

  2. Ooo mcm tu dekat sana.

Dekat sini MSA dengan MSA Talaqiyah (zaydi + ja'fari syi'i) agak ok hubungan. Masa sambutan peristiwa 10 muharram (massacre of husayn and ahlul bayt di karbala) ada speaker dari sunni bagi talk sekali dengan the syi'i counter part. Alhamdulillah kiterang agak ok.

Ada brother syi'i yg agak ok solat sekali dengan kami satu saf. Ttp mmg ada la gang yg buat jema'ah dierang sendiri.

Tentang solat on stone ni pulak, i won't pretend that i know about it deep down, and maybe they have khilaf among themselves too. But from what I understand, and from what my ja'faris (or twelvers) shi'i friends said, they can't pray on synthetic things as they have their own hadith that prohibits that. Jadi dierang boleh je letak dahi masa sujud atas daun ke, kayu ke, batu ke, ape2 bende asli la.

Cume dierang guna batu karbala tu sebab lagi sacred la, kire alang2 tu baik solat atas batu karbala yg kononnye lagi sacred tu (mengikut fahaman mereka). Dan kalau kite tengok syi'i yg ke makkah, dierang tak bawak batu karbala tu, die sujud je atas tanah haram, sebab tanah haram lagi sacred. Tetapi dierang akan solat dekat kawasan takde carpet. Masjidil haram tu, lorong2 takde carpet tu penuh dengan dierang. Kalau dierang solat dalam saf berkapet, nanti bile sujud, dierang letak kepala dekat depan sikit atas batu marmar tu.

Tetapi kalau mana syi'i bermazhab ja'fari, zaydi, atau isma'ili tu, takde, dierang tak sembah husayn hasan or ali. Imam ja'far as-sadiq (the sixth imam of theirs) punye fiqh banyak sama jugak dengan hanafi dan maliki, sebab dulu imam abu hanifah dan imam malik pon penah belajar dengan imam ja'far as-saddiq.

Cume masa zaman fatimid caliphate and the buyids (ni dynasty2 syi'i masa zaman akhir abbasiyah), memang ade khalifah2 mereka yg agak extreme, tulis dekat wall kutuk Abu Bakar r.a. & Umar r.a., etc. Contohnye al-Hakim, tetapi die tu psycopath sikit. Time tu Seljuk (sunni) dengan Fatimid (syi'i) berperang (ni zaman salahuddin al-ayubi, salahudin al-ayubi ni seljuq). Jadi memang ada history big hostility antara syi'i dan sunni zaman tu, tu yg kite dengar mcm2 bende pelik pasal dierang sampai sekarang. Kite pon pernah dengar kan al-azhar tu sebenarnye asalnye ditubuhkan oleh fatimid empire, dan memang al-azhar asalnye pusat spread da'wah pemahaman isma'ili syi'i, kemudian bile salahuddin ayubi take over egypt, baru tukar jadi pusat sunni.

Kalau nak faham syi'i lebih mendalam, fahami
    1) Peristiwa karbala 10 muharram, apa yg berlaku kepada husayn.
    2) Peristiwa Ghadir Khaum, yakni kata2 rasulullah s.a.w. tentang Ali r.a. semasa haji wida'. Hadith tu ada hatta dalam bukhari sekali pon, cume syi'ah dan sunni mempunyai pemahaman berbeza ttg maksudnye.
    3) Tiga mazhab utama mereka: Ja'fari, Isma'ili, dan Zaydi.

Btw my ex housemate, was syi'i who 'converted' to sunni. But his family was Dawudi Bora sect, tu memang agak sesat dan aku dengar mcm2 bende pelik jgak dierang buat.

    Just my two cents.

    Allahu'alam.

  3. pernah ditanya oleh seorang non muslim..
"what's the dffrnt btween sunni n syiah? bukan ke mereka semua islam?

my fren said, sebagaimana juga kamu yang menyembah isa..bukan ke byk aliran dan fahaman...

dan sorang lagi berkata, takde beza kerana kami semua mengucapkan lailahaillallah...

dan saya pulak, hanya tersenyum=] bukan tak nak bagi jawapan , cuma what's the point kalo saya gitau? kerana saya tahu bahawa soalan itu hanya nak memperli agama Islam ni..hu...
